Service Dog Training

Psychiatric Service Dog Coaching & Public Access Preparation

This coaching is for clients wishing to train their own Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) to assist with conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, or other psychiatric or neurological challenges. I provide task training, behavior shaping, and public access preparation tailored to your dog, your needs, and your pace.

📌 Please note: I work with owner-trainers seeking to train their personal dog as a PSD. I do not sell or place fully trained dogs.

Who this training is for

This specialized service dog coaching is designed for owners who:

  • Need a PSD to assist with daily life and mitigate psychiatric symptoms

  • Want to train a dog for specific, disability-related tasks

  • Seek structured, professional coaching with clear progression

  • Are committed to ethical public access training

A Note on Ethics & Legitimacy

I am committed to ethical service dog training and upholding the standards that protect both handlers and the public. I do not support the misuse of service dog titles for untrained or emotionally supportive pets, nor do I assist individuals simply looking to “bring their dog everywhere.” If your interest in service dog training is not rooted in legitimate, disability-related need and a commitment to proper task training and public behavior, I am not the right trainer for you.

In cases of fraudulent intent, I will notify other service dog trainers in Colorado to ensure our professional standards remain intact.

Don’t have a dog yet?

I also offer breeder selection and puppy raising guidance to help clients find a suitable candidate for future PSD work. Learn how to evaluate temperament, ask the right questions, and choose breeders focused on health, structure, and stability.

Wondering if your dog is a good fit?

Not every dog is naturally suited for the demands of service work. If you're unsure about your dog’s potential, we can begin by build foundational obedience and assess temperament, focus, and motivation along the way. If it turns out that service work isn’t the best match, I’ll support you in exploring other options or guide you through selecting a more suitable service dog candidate, including assistance with choosing a reputable breeder.
